There are different type of insulation materials which one is best?
July 4, 2011
It's a good question. It all comes down to where the insulation is to be installed. Sometimes in difficult areas to get to spray foam is not the best option. In metal buildings Spray foam is a great product. The installer needs some manueverability when spraying. Cellulose and fiberglass each work effectively. Sometimes it comes to preference and cost. Spray foam is a more expensive product to install somewhere in the range of 3-4 times as much as fiberglass or cellulose. Each product works a little different as to how it achieves thermal resisitance. And how it is installerd. Example I believe cellulose blown in empty sidewalls is a great way to insulate and a great product for this application. I like fiberglass or spray foam in the attic space. Spray foam is normally installed sprayed against the attic side of roof deck. where fiberglass or cellulose are blown in on top of the sheetrock over the living area.

Fiberglass verses Cellulose insulation
June 18, 2011
The questions have arisen as whether cellulose was better than fiberglass or was fiberglass insulation better than cellulose insulation. Well the argument goes back and forth. I like fiberglass personally nothing n it ever to burn the settling factor is 2% when installed correctly. But cellulose has good qualities also. It is 85% recycle it is fire retardant. It is a great product in drill and fills or dense pack method in existing walls. It's a little a cheaper. Beware of those that say Cellulose is better than fiberglass and they quote a fire department burning a structure showing fiberglass building in flames. The fiberglass batt is not equal to cellulose wet spray in. If you install fiberglass BIBS or Blow In Blanket System and compare the cellulose we spray in then you are talking apples to apples.
